Reporter’s Notebook: Student Senate votes unanimously to support The Exponent print edition

On Jan. 23, first-year sport management student Nate Schweinberg was appointed and sworn in as a new senator. The Community Engagement and Clinical Opportunities Society Clinical was approved and will have a focus on service and community engagement through partnerships and projects. The Genshin Gamer Guild, a non-competitive club based on the video game “Genshin Impact” was also approved. The Student Senate passed a resolution in support of The Exponent’s print edition amid potential budget cuts.

The Academic Affairs Committee attended a Faculty Senate meeting where they discussed creating a new core curriculum due to budget cuts. If this resolution is approved, it will go into effect this fall and will mainly affect the incoming first-year class. They are also exploring a new petitioning initiative to lengthen the drop date.
