Wrestlers take second in region; Gibbs named OAC coach of the year
The Baldwin Wallace wrestlers, ranked fifth in the nation, competed at the 2019 NCAA Division III Central Region Championship Tournament in Indiana on Feb 23.

The team placed second of nineteen teams and scored a total of 146.5 team points.
Junior All-OAC Dante Ginnetti’s performance carried BW, resulting in him taking home the 125-pound regional title and Most Valuable Wrestler honor.
In addition, BW Head Wrestling Coach James Gibbs was selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year for the fourth-straight season.
He earned this award after leading the Yellow Jackets to four straight OAC Championships, setting a school-record.
Gibbs also finished the season with a record of 14-2 overall and a 5-1 record in the OAC.
Seven BW wrestlers earned All-OAC selections. First team selections were Senior Anthony Arroyo and sophomore Stanley Bleich, while junior Dante Ginnetti, sophomore Tanner McHugh, seniors Richie Burke, Justin Ransom, and James Ritchie were named to the second team.
Six wrestlers qualified to compete at the NCAA Division III Championships on March 8 and 9. The Yellow Jackets will travel to Roanoke, Virginia to compete in their final matches for the 2018-2019 season.
