Women’s basketball rolls up January wins

BW has been on a roll over the last month.

They won big OAC games against Capital, Mount Union, Wilmington, Otterbein, John Carroll, Muskingum, and Heidelberg, though lost to Ohio Northern and Marietta only by a few points each.

“Although the team is young and going through some growing pains, the women get better each day and will continue to get better throughout the entire season,” said Head Coach Harrer.

Harrer shared the confidence she had in the women and said, “We have players who can have a great night and really hurt the opponent.”

Harrer said the team did not let losses shake their positive attitude. “I think losses can help you learn more than wins so in that way I think they were good,” Harrer said.

BW is seeking to finish out the season on a high note heading into tournament play. Upcoming games against teams Otterbein (Feb. 3), John Carroll (Feb. 7), Mount Union (Feb. 14), and Wilmington (Feb. 17) will give BW a chance to secure their dominance over these teams they have previously captured wins over.

Harrer said the rest of the season cannot be taken lightly and defense needs to be an essential foundation for the team’s success.
