Men:

Following a win over Hiram and a loss to Mount Union, the men’s team record moves to 4-3, with a 1-1 record in OAC play.
They have already matched their win total from last season, and despite falling to the Purple Raiders in both the 200-medley relay and 200 freestyle relays, BW posted their best times of the season.
In the Hiram meet, BW was led by freshman stroker Kyle Cordrey and sophomore diver Evan Rinaldi, who each won a pair of events. Cordrey won the 200-meter individual medley and the 400-meter freestyle in times of 2:31.33 and 4:51.07, respectively.
Rinaldi captured the 1-meter six dive event and the 3-meter dive event with scores of 160.60 and 161.80, respectively.
In their OAC duel against Mount Union, Junior All-America Tyler Thompson won 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 59.42 seconds and finished second in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:05.73.
Sophomore All-OAC stroker Greg Shaw won the 100-yard butterfly and was the runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle in season-best times of 53.38 and 22.93 seconds.
Thompson and Shaw both have momentum going into the Blue Devil Invitational in Fredonia, New York, with at least one getting first or runner up in every meet of the season. The Invitational will take place Dec 1-3.
The Yellow Jackets have improved their placing in the tournament in each of the last three years. They will look to build upon that with a finish in the top half of the table.

Women:

After winning five straight meets, which is their longest win streak in over seven years, the women finally lost in a matchup against Mount Union.
Prior to that, BW beat Hiram 136-34. The loss to Mount put their record at 5-2 heading into the Blue Devil Invitational at Fredonia University.
Allie Thorson led the Yellow Jackets in their win over Hiram with victories in the 800-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly in times of 10:18.64 and 1:51.76.
BW dominated the meet with senior freestyler Lena Kortis, sophomore freestyler Jenna Ball, sophomore stroke Sarah Krupp, senior freestyler Jordyn Miller, freshman stroker Marissa Kural, and sophomore stroke Ericka Nockengost all picking up individual victories.
With a sixth straight win in mind, BW traveled to Alliance and dropped a close meet against Mount.
The Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore stroker/diver Ellie Clymer as she won the 1-meter five dive event and the 100-yard breaststroke with 140.95 points and a time of 1:15.09.
The women’s team will head into the Blue Devil Invitational with confidence having started of the season in great fashion. They have placed 7th in this invitational for the last three years.
The Yellow Jackets will also face Penn State Behrend for the second time this season and will look for a similar result to their first meet, a 193-96 win.

Overall:

The first half of the swimming and diving season is rapidly coming to a close. Both teams have manged to stay above .500 heading into the Blue Devil Invitational.
After Invitational, both teams will go a whole month without a single competition. Their season will resume January 5th facing Widner University in Sarasota Florida.
They will look at the break as an opportunity to refresh and prepare for the rest of the season.
