The Baldwin Wallace University Women’s Lacrosse team started off their April campaign with an 9-8 win over cross-town rival John Carroll University at home.

Two early second half goals helped break a 4-4 tie to propel the Yellow Jackets to a victory. Big performances came from junior attack Brie Martineau, who had three goals and three assists, and two goals and an assist from senior midfielder Meg Patrick, helped secure BW their victory.

The Yellow Jackets continued their success in conference play with a 13-7 away win against Ohio Northern. Martineau took charge with another strong performance netting five goals in the first half along with a second half assist.

There were strong performances all across the board as Patrick and sophomore Maddie Ray both secured a hat trick while senior attack Hannah Albrechta tallied a goal and two assists. BW continued their hot streak with yet another conference win by thrashing Muskingum University 20-0 at home.

Strong performances were seen all around, but most notably, sophomore goalie Ashleigh Hildreth broke the school-record for careers saves with a running total of 247 saves. To wrap up their current run, the Yellow Jackets took a victory with a 19-5 win over Heidelberg University in their last OAC away game.

Patrick lead the team by becoming just the fourth player in school history to break the 100 career-goal mark.

The Yellow Jackets will look to keep the hot streak going in their next OAC home game against Mount Union on April 24 at 7 p.m.
