Spring break trip a learning experience for women’s tennis

The Baldwin Wallace University women’s tennis team traveled to Hilton Head, South Carolina on March 3-8 for their annual spring break trip.

The trip featured a schedule of teams from across the nation, including schools from New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Minnesota.

Although the Yellow Jackets were unable to walk away from any of the five matches victorious, it was a great learning experience and will help them tremendously for the rest of their 2019 campaign.

When the Yellow Jackets returned home to Berea, they had more than two weeks off before opening Ohio Athletic Conference play against Capital on March 23.

BW was able to put together their first win of the season, sweeping the Crusaders 9-0.

In doubles action, the team of sophomore Jayde Robinson and sophomore Ashtyn Morris won 8-5.

The duo of senior Imani Robinson and senior Kathleen Moser, along with the team of junior Becca Liebler and sophomore Emma Hubbard, walked away with an 8-4 victory each.

In singles action, Jayde Robinson picked up the #1 singles victory, followed by a #2 single victory by Morris. Imani Robinson, Moser, Liebler and Hubbard all picked up victories as well.

The Yellow Jackets continue OAC play when they host crosstown rival John Carroll University on Wednesday, April 3 at 3:30 on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.
