Cursed. That is what some would call the town of Knockemstiff, Ohio.

Showcasing tragedy after tragedy that no one can explain: orphans, serial killers, and radical preachers litter every street corner.

What starts out as a sweet tale of a soldier returning from war quickly takes a dark turn and leaves not only the characters but also the audience deeply traumatized at the events that proceed.

One piece of advice I would give to viewers of  “The Devil All The Time” would be to not get attached to a character, because they will either ending up going crazy and killing someone or being killed themselves.

This dark story displays just how far someone will go to save what they love. With a star studded cast of Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and Sebastian Stan, you are sure to see some beloved faces but in roles like you have never seen before.

Just when you think nothing else can get worse for these characters, you are proven wrong time and time again.

It seems like every time someone opens a door, another dead body tumbles out and another hope for redemption is dashed away.

One thread connects all these characters, and every action by one creates dire consequences for the others. The uncertainty of who will reach their breaking point next leaves you wondering until the very end if anyone will survive at all.

This is certainly a movie suitable for the month of October. It will make you cringe, gasp, and yell out of frustration as the story gets so out of control that you won’t believe it.

You won’t believe the beginning when a man pours a jar of spiders on his face and you definitely won’t believe the end when one gunshot has the ability to finally silence the madness.

It is a whirlwind of emotions and you will not know whether you are rooting for the characters or terrified of them.

Either way, this movie will make you much more cautious when you’re taking the backroads of Ohio because you never know what might catch your eye.
