Offense leads women’s soccer to strong start
The Baldwin Wallace University women’s soccer team has started their season off strong at 3-1, including wins against Oberlin College, Albion College (Mich.), and Thomas More College (Ky.).
Several players have scored their first collegiate goal this season. Sophomore Alex Guido has started off strong by netting two goals, one against Oberlin and another against Albion.
Freshman Anna Wenzinger and Olivia Kane also both scored goals in the opening weekend against Thomas More while Kaitlyn McGuire scored her first collegiate goal against Albion.
Setting the tone for attacking success is senior attacker Rachel Bender. “She has the ability to draw defenders, and that opens up opportunities for our goal scorers,” says Coach Wojtkun of Bender.
The Jackets are hitting the road for upcoming games against Frostburg St. (Md.), Hiram College, and Grove City College (Pa.). The Jackets will be home on Saturday, the 22nd at 1:00 to face Waynesburg University (Pa.).
