Miller paces men’s golf to 10-stroke win

The Baldwin Wallace University men’s golf team opened up its 2018-2019 season by participating in the Gatorade Collegiate Classic, hosted by the College of Wooster at Zoar Village Golf Course in Lawrence, Ohio.

The Yellow Jackets won the tournament by 10 strokes, shooting a team total of 582 (Par +6). BW was led by senior Hunter Miller who finished second overall after shooting -1 par (143 total).

Junior Jimmy Clark saw an 8th place finish after shooting a career-low 72 and 75 for a total of 147. Freshman Roni Shin, who shot a total of 147 as well in his career debut, tied with Clark for an 8th place finish.

Miller was named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Golfer of the Week after this second place performance.

BW saw five student-athletes play as individuals. They were led by freshmen Logan Bratsch who shot led both rounds with strokes of 74 and 78 in his collegiate debut.

In this tournament short, BW finished first out of four teams as they hosted the BW Invitational at Mallard Creek Golf Club on September 8th.

Junior Ben Ladaika shot a career-best 66 and Shin shot a career-low round of 70. In this tournament, BW had nine individual performers. Jared Budner led the group after shooting a 76.

The men’s golf program will be back on Monday, September 17th as they participate in the John Dicillo Fall Invitational, hosted by John Carroll University.
