Men’s track finishes sixth at OAC championship
The Baldwin Wallace University men’s track and field team finished sixth out of ten teams at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University.
The Jackets had 38 points at the end of the two-day event.
In the field events, junior Ted Achladis took fourth in the shot put with a toss of 50 feet and 5.5 inches. Zac Dysert was fifth in the shot put with his career-best mark of 50 feet and 2.5 inches
In the 800, freshman David Prather placed fourth with his career-best time of 2:00.27. Joe Juda, another freshman, was ninth in the mile run with a time of 4:29.86 and thirteenth in the 1000-meter run in a time of 2:41.30.
For the relays in the 800-meter relay the group of senior Brandon Cole, Freshmen Drew Kopchak, freshman Nate Matthews and junior Robby Becker took fourth in a time of 1:34.38. In the 1600-meter relay the team of Cole, Matthews, Juda and Prather placed sixth in a time of 3:33.98.
The team will be back on March 2 as they compete in the NCAA Last Chance meet in Wisconsin.
