Men’s swimming and diving lost their final regular season meet but are in action this weekend for the OAC championships at the University of Akron.

The Baldwin Wallace Men’s Swimming and Diving team unfortunately fell in their last regular season meet against Case Western on Senior Day at home. The team lost by a final score of 189- 91.

Despite the loss, there were some stand out performances as Michael Lewis secured victories in the 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard breaststroke, and the 400-yard individual medley.

There were other strong performances as many others secured second finishes in their events including Greg Shaw in both the 50 and 100 yard butterfly, Matthew Butt in the 100 yard freestyle, and Connor Hartup in the 400 yard individual medley.

Although the team failed to secure a victory this past week, Coach Laura Wolf-Delmaine felt there were positives in the last meet of the regular season and going forward.

“I am very happy with how our team has progressed through this second half of the season,” she said. “We had a number of changes to our schedule this year and as a staff we are pleased with how those changes have worked out for our team. A number of our swimmers have been working on a new third event, which has brought exciting changes to our training groups. They are a very hard working group and we believe there are big things coming down the pipeline for them.”

The Baldwin Wallace Men’s Swimming and Diving team will return to competition when it competes in the OAC championships from Feb. 14-16 at the University of Akron.

Preliminary round games will begin at 10 a.m. and finals will take place each night at 6 p.m.  The meet will be live streamed on bwyellowjackets.com.
