Baldwin Wallace is proud to present Dean Yoder, conservator of paintings at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Yoder will be presenting “The Crucifixion of Saint Andrew” the masterpiece of renaissance artist Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. During this lecture Yoder will discuss conservation efforts, historical significance, aesthetic choices, and will hold a Q and A.

The historical significance of this piece is in part due to the incredible story of its creator. Caravaggio is among the most influential artists of the Baroque period and had his fair share of critics, some of whom believed that he had destroyed art with his use of light, perspective, and realism.
