With this win, the Jackets advanced to the championship against the tournament host, Wheaton College. In a 75-74 loss, four Yellow Jackets scored in double figures. Leading the way was sophomore Michael Quiring with a career-high 18 points.
Along with him was Battle who contributed 17 points. Kuhn and senior All-OAC forward Jake Fetherolf both tallied 14 points each. Fetherolf also led the game with 11 rebounds.
Upon returning from Wheaton, Baldwin Wallace got back to their winning ways in the home opener against Alfred State. Battle led the scoring with 13 points, followed by Kuhn who recorded 12 points, a game-high 7 rebounds, and a game-high 6 assists.
“My teammates and I have all emphasized to make the easy play and create open looks for guys. I would say that’s been our biggest strength right now 4-5 games in” said Battle.
“We definitely need to take care of the ball more and be locked in for all 40 minutes if we want to be playing in March”.
With that said, the Jackets shot about 47% from the field in their most recent game at Trine University, winning 68-59. Fetherolf recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and adding a game-high 12 rebounds.
Kuhn also scored double digits, adding 15 points to the Yellow Jacket’s tally. Baldwin Wallace is back in action to open up OAC play at #6 Marietta on Saturday, December 2nd. They then travel to Muskingum on the 9th, and Heidelberg on the 14th of December.
