Jackets softball break school record
With just two regular season games remaining before the beginning of the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament, the Baldwin Wallace university softball team is looking to finish the season on a positive note.
BW is currently in 3rd place in the OAC with a school-record 31-7 record and has been ranked as high as No.24 in Division III.
Continuing her breakout tour in collegiate softball is freshman Nikki Camarati. After striking out 11 Capital batters in seven innings of work this past week, she has now tied the school-record with 19 wins in a single season. Camarati currently leads the OAC in earned run average (1.16), wins and strikeouts (164). She has been named OAC Softball Pitcher of the Week four times throughout her first season in the Brown and Gold.
Continuing the offensive surge of Baldwin Wallace is senior outfielder Alexis Boledovic. Boldevic is currently second in the OAC in batting average with an outstanding .456 and in runs batted in with 38 runs. After her last game against Capital, she broke the school-record for hits in a season and tied the school-record for runs scored in a season.
The softball team closes out it’s 2019 regular season on the road against Otterbein University this Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. The OAC Tournament begins Friday, May 3 and concludes on Sunday, May 5.
