The Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets lived up to the Coach’s expectations having a strong weekend claiming the Chuck Ressler Tournament Championship. In the battle of the Yellow Jackets, our ladies defeated the host team of Rochester University in the final by a hefty score of 79-56. Much to coach’s delight, the Yellow Jackets were led by a strong performance from their senior All-OAC guard/forward Kara Marshall who was named the tournament’s MVP averaging 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists after just two games. Marshall scored a game-high 17 points, added five rebounds, to her running total and went three for four from beyond the three point arc. But the senior’s stepped up across the board as All-OAC and All-Academic OAC guard Riley Schill also made the All-Tournament team. Senior guard Kasey Hughes also made a valid contribution with ten points, and three steals in the win. It was great to see strong performances from the seniors, but the team all-around performed. Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference forward Lilly Edwards continues to build off of her star first season contributing 12 points, and contesting for a team-high six rebounds.

The Women’s Basketball team continues to fly high as they dominated St. Vincent College in their home opener winning 68-55. The win helped bolster Baldwin Wallace’s record to 3-0 marking the fourth consecutive season where the ladies have won their first three games. The Lady Yellow Jackets were led by yet another strong performance from sophomore All-OAC forward Lilly Edwards who racked up a team high of 17 points and six rebounds from the bench. As Coach Harrer said that she expects big performance from her seniors this season, they continue to come up big and live up to her expectations. This time, fifth-year senior All-OAC guard and forward Hannah Fecht stepped up scoring 12 points, and converting on a season high four three-pointers. Sophomore guard Megan Hensel also contributed heavily in this victory scoring 10 points and grabbing four rebounds in the win.

The Baldwin Wallace Women’s Basketball team will return to action on Saturday Nov. 23 when they take on Washington and Jefferson College at the Henry Memorial Center in Washington, PA.
