Indoor track competes at OAC

On Saturday, February 17, the men’s indoor track and field team traveled to Alliance, Ohio to compete in the Raider Tune-Up meet. The meet was held in Peterson Fieldhouse hosted by the University of Mount Union.

“The month of February is what we consider our championship month. There’s a lot of big time meets, and it cumulates with the OAC Championship at the end of the month,” said Baldwin Wallace Head Coach Matthew Cole.

The Yellow Jackets competed in the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Championship on Feb. 23 and 24. It took place in the Capital University Fieldhouse in Columbus, Ohio. The Yellow Jackets finished fourth of 10 teams on Friday in the preliminaries and seventh out of 10 on Saturday in the finals.

Top performers were senior All-OAC thrower Zak Dysert, who won the weight throw with a career-best toss of 60’2”, and junior All-American sprinter Jordan Leverette, who set a school and OAC Championship record in the 200-meter dash preliminaries. Sophomore thrower Ted Achladis also earned his first career All-OAC honor.

The Yellow Jackets will travel to Wisconsin Saturday, March 3 to compete in the NCAA Last Chance meet.
