Seniors Jake Fetherolf, from left, Mike Kaminski, Cam Kuhn and Jordan Richardson will lead the BW Men’s basketball team this year. Fethrolf was second in the OAC last season in rebounding.

The men’s basketball team is looking forward to an exciting 2017-18 season. The Yellow Jackets will be returning 11 letter winners and four starters from the team that finished 15-13 and second in the OAC tournament last year.
Leading the charge will be senior three-time All-OAC guard Cam Kuhn and junior All-OAC guard Jay Battle, who averaged 15.3 points and 12.3 points per game respectively last year.
Another key returning player will be senior All-OAC forward Jake Fetherolf, who was second in the conference last year in rebounding with an average of nine rebounds. He also tacked on 11.5 points per game.
As a team, BW outscored their opponents 78.3 to 76 and outshot them at the 3-point line, averaging 10.3 3-pointers per game on .352 percent shooting.
BW was ranked second in the OAC preseason polls, behind only Marietta, who the Yellow Jackets fell to in the championship game.
“We have an experienced and hungry team who are looking forward to every opportunity we have this season to compete,” said Coach Tom Heil. “As a coaching staff we could not be more excited to get underway and experience this journey with this group of guys”.
The season tips off Nov. 17, in Wheaton, Illinois when BW takes on the Wisconsin-River Falls Falcons in the Lee Pfund Classic tournament.
Following that, they will return to Ursprung Gym to take on Alfred University and then travel to Indiana for a matchup with Trine University.
