Comedians to Entertain at 2014 April Reign

Comedians, Greg Proops and Jeff B. Davis, from Whose Line Is It Anyway? will be the entertainment at this year’s April Reign Concert. The comedy show is different from past years’ concerts, which always included music performances from different bands.
Campus Entertainment Production (CEP) decides who gets to perform at the concert each year. CEP is a campus organization that serves as Baldwin Wallace’s entertainment network. The club arranges a variety of events that aim to appeal to all students on campus.
“Each year Campus Entertainment Productions looks at several factors when selecting an April Reign artist.  Such factors include, but are not limited to, availability, cost, name recognition and potential audience appreciation of the performance.  It is not an easy process and takes several months to solidify an artist,” CEP’s co-advisor Jaime Yager said.
CEP aims to offer a different genre of entertainment for the April Reign concert every year, but the organization decided to do a comedy show this year because it has never been done before at April Reign.
Besides being regular guests on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Proops and Davis have had guest appearances on several other shows.
Proops has appeared on shows  such as True Jackson V.P., Easy to Assemble,  and The Drew Carey Show. He has done much voice over acting in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Bob the Builder, and Star Wars: Clone Wars.
Davis has also made many television appearances including The Drew Carey Show, The Sarah Silverman Show, and Mary Shelly’s Frankenhole. Davis has also appeared on Broadway playing Louis in The King and I when he was 11.
“The hope is that comedy will appeal to the majority of campus and that BW students, faculty and staff will come together to enjoy a great show,” Yager said.
The April Reign concert will be held in the Ursprung Gym Friday, April 11 at 8 p.m. Tickets will be sold during the lunch and dinner hours in the Union lobby beginning March 31 and will be available for purchase until the day of the concert.
Baldwin Wallace student, staff  and faculty members can purchase their tickets for $5, and will be able to purchase four additional tickets at $7. Jacket Express, cash and checks will all be accepted. To hear more about the event or other events CEP events, follow them on Facebook or Twitter.
