BW Welcomes New Staff Member

The term “YJ4L” rings tried and true with BW’s newest Chief Talent Officer, Jeremy Short. Short was not only born and raised in beautiful Berea and attended Baldwin Wallace as a student, but he also spent most of his childhood on campus due to the fact that both of his parents are alumni.

He followed in their footsteps and ended up getting married on campus as well. When asked about staying in the area, Short responded, “It was a natural fit for me to do the work that I care about at a place that I love.”

In his new position, Short has many goals: “I want the faculty and staff to feel valued, challenged and engaged, which ultimately will bring the best experiences to the students,” he said.

For the past six years, Short taught human resource management classes, but this new position offers him a wide range of opportunities to better BW’s Human Resources.

Short is more than ready to create an environment that he feels “will recruit and enable talented people to bring their best selves to work.”

Fortunately, Short is not all work and no play. In his free time, he enjoys supporting local small businesses, attempting to play golf, and divulging in the art of science fiction.

But Short’s heart still bleeds brown and gold, and once things on campus are up and running, he is ready to go.

“I am very excited to go to games and shows at the theatre; just to be around the hum and bustle of life with students on campus,” stated Short.

Short sums up his gratitude for such a great place to work by expressing, “Clearly when you meet the people here what you see is faculty and staff who want to do the best, be the best and bring the best to our students.”

There is no doubt the BW has made an impact on Short and with his positive attitude, he is sure to make a great impact right back.
