BW GameGuild Seeks to Diversify Gaming Community

BW GAME Guild, which stands for Games and Multimedia Entertainment, is an organization that focuses on building a community through different media and activities, such as console gaming, board games, and more.  Students come together to enrich and diversify the experience of the BW gaming community.

GAME Guild holds meetings every Friday from 5 to 10 p.m. in the union building.  Occasionally they will hold virtual meetings on their Discord server and play games there as well.  There you can find additional announcements, post any questions you may have, or you can just chill with the community and talk about games.  Contact Quintin Skelly for more information and an invitation link if you`re interested.

Since BW has lifted the mask mandate across all of campus, students are obviously no longer required to wear their mask at the meetings.  However, food is still prohibited which includes anything from candy to meals from the dining hall, etc.  Drinks are allowed if they have a lid or cap you can use to close them.

They also hold LAN parties where students get together and compete in a game on the same network.  It is a night long event which lasts from 6 p.m. until 3 a.m. This event is held once a month, so you are welcome to play and stay all night!  Quintin Skelly, the secretary of GAME Guild said, “we are having a LAN Party on April 29th and it’ll be retro themed.”

“Come on by every Friday for some nonstop gaming! We got board games, Jackbox, Nintendo related stuff, and more!  We hope to see you at 5 p.m. in the Quarry room.”

Quintin also mentioned that the organization will be conducting E-board nominations since some of them are graduating at the end of the semester.  More information will follow for the nomination process in the weeks to come.
