Men’s basketball heading into OAC tournament as fourth seed

As the playoffs approach, the Baldwin Wallace men’s basketball team has compiled a record of 16-8 overall (10 OAC).

To recap, on Feb. 3, the Yellow Jackets came up with a big win over Otterbein. In the 76-61 win, three BW players scored in double digits.

Drew Sova tied his career high and grabbed a game-high tying seven rebounds. Following the win came a 77-70 loss to No. 24 John Carroll University.

A big contribution came from the bench as junior Kyle Nader added 10 points and sophomore Drew Sova not only scored 12 points, but set another career high in rebounding by grabbing 10 boards.

The loss didn’t have them down for long though, as they came back and narrowly beat Capital University 67-65.

Sophomore Michael Quiring and Jay Battle led Baldwin Wallace in scoring by tallying 16 points apiece.

Jake Fetherolf also added 14 points and seven rebounds.

From the bench, sophomore Tyler Colombo added nine points and Drew Sova recorded seven boards.

In their most recent game, the Yellow Jackets fell to Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio, 61-74.

Four BW players scored in double digits, including Jay Battle with 11 points, Michael Quiring with 11 points, Cam Kuhn with 10, and Jake Fetherolf with 14 points and seven rebounds. Cam Kuhn also contributed five assists.

Baldwin Wallace ends the regular season this Saturday, Feb. 17, when they take on Wilmington College in Berea, Ohio.

Following that game will be the beginning of the playoffs, in which the Yellow Jackets are the automatic fourth seed
and will host a quarterfinal game on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
