Baseball
The No. 12-nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University baseball team won a 9-2 non-conference single game against Hiram College on Heritage Field.
BW (27-8) has won six straight games, 10 of the last 11 and improved to 8-1 against North Coast Athletic Conference opponents. Hiram (8-25), who snapped a 10-game losing skid on Saturday, has lost 11 of its last 12 games and ends with a 1-3 record against Ohio Athletic Conference opponents.
The Yellow Jackets scored three in the second, two in the fifth, two in the seventh and two in the eighth. The Terries plated a run in the third and one in the eighth.
Women’s Golf
The Baldwin Wallace University women’s golf team finished fifth at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by the University of Mount Union at the River Greens Golf Club.
BW placed fifth of eight teams with a two-round and 54-hole total of 756 on the par-72 and 5,800-yard River Greens layout. Otterbein University was the team champion after defeating the University of Mount Union in a playoff.
Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC student-athlete Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) had a two-round total of 183 and finished 13th after rounds of 92 and 91.
Men’s Lacrosse
Freshman attack Brock Riemenschneider (Rocky River) scored two goals, but the Baldwin Wallace University men’s lacrosse team lost to Ohio Athletic Conference rival Capital University, 9-5, on Tressel Field inside The George Finnie Stadium on Senior & Parents’ Day. With its win, the Crusders (13-2, 6-0 OAC) clinched the OAC regular season title. The Yellow Jackets (12-2, 4-2 OAC) finished third. Capital was led by freshman attack Brennan O’Callaghan with five goals, including three in the second half.
Women’s Track
The Baldwin Wallace University women’s outdoor track and field team set one school record and had two individual win titles on the first of the two-day 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by the University of Mount Union inside Mount Union Stadium.
The Yellow Jackets scored 35 points and stand fourth of 10 teams. Defending champion Mount Union leads after the first day with 74 points.
Junior All-American thrower and defending OAC Thrower of the Year Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/Kenston), junior All-American heptathlete and defending OAC Sprinter of the Year Melanie Winters (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) and sophomore thrower Kasey Clouse (Norwalk/Western Reserve) led the way. Gallavan and Winters successfully defended their titles in the discus and long jump, respectively. Clouse was the runner-up to Gallavan in the discus.
Men’s Track

The Yellow Jackets scored 18 points and stand seventh of 10 teams. John Carroll leads with 63 points.
Senior decathlete Brandon Eddy (Cuyahoga Heights) tied for second in the pole vault with a vault of 15 feet and five inches and tied fourth in the long jump with a career-best leap of 21’ 10” . Eddy now has earned fourth career outdoor All-OAC honor.
