Many of the athletes at Baldwin Wallace University have been playing some intramural basketball at night to kill some time and engage in some relaxed fun.
“It’s a great event. It’s a great situation for the school for the kids for our board to go out and do something, but man is it tiring,” Matt Beck, a member of the Sharks team and goalkeeper of the men’s soccer team said after his winning game Nov. 7.
The Sharks were able to pull out a 44-34 win back at the Lou Higgins Recreation Center.
Even Scott, the Shark’s coach and another member of the BW men’s soccer team said that playing against the others is a fun way to spend the night.
“[It was] much deserved, much needed, and it’s a great time,” Scott said.
The team was off to a fast start that included a double-digit lead in the first half, and the game wasn’t without highlights. One player for the opposing Megalodons drilled a half-court shot at the end of the game that attracted some style points.

It was not the only game that was going on at that time in the Higgins Center. Team Mad Dog went up against the Sej Hammers, and they dominated. After getting off to a fast start in the first half by leading 20-4 late in it, Mad Dog would go on to win by a comfortable amount, finishing shortly after the Sharks-Megaladons contest.
The rules are very similar to NCAA men’s basketball rules, as you play two 20-minute halves in hopes of scoring more points than your opponent, but the clock is always running unless there’s a technical, an injury or a foul with under two minutes remaining. Halftime is barely a breather, as the teams only have three minutes to talk with each other and take a step back from the action. The league is set up in a similar manner to the National Basketball Association, as each team will play each other, leading up to a tournament held at the end of the season.
