Women’s Cross Country gets second

Yellow Jacket cross country action continued for the women and the men last Saturday. Both teams traveled to Calvin University for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships. Ranked #23 nationally, the Women placed 2nd overall out of 34 teams. The Jackets were led by senior Kelly Brennan, who placed 4th overall at the event. Brennan is used to this type of success as this is here fourth All-Great Lakes regional honor, which is earned by placing 35th overall or under at the event. Three other Jackets also earned the honor: sophomore Alyssa Laugher who placed 10th, and juniors Madison Kile and Hastings Marek, Kile finishing 14th, and Marek finished just a bit behind her at 19th overall. The Men’s Yellow Jacket Cross Country team finished 18th out of 37 teams, and the Jackets top finisher was Andrew Krupp at 67th overall. The Men now are finished with their season, but the Women will continue on to the NCAA National Championship in Louisville on Nov. 23, after gaining an automatic bid at Regionals.
