Calendar Highlights for Spring Semester 2014

Baldwin Wallace University offers students the opportunity to participate and enjoy the wide variety of events and activities during the academic school year.
This Spring, the campus events calendar is filled with service opportunities, annual showcases, sporting events, recitals, performances and open houses.
Along with its core liberal arts component, BW has an emphasis on service and the humanities.
BW students participates in service, performances, and exhibits that help the campus and community thrive with these opportunities to volunteer and be involved.
A few of the events that will take place this spring consist of Bach Festival, Spring Service Day, The Senior Exhibit, and The Annual Student Exhibition.

82nd Annual Bach Festival

The 2014 Bach Festival will run through April 25-27. The Baldwin Wallace Bach Festival displays academic and artistic excellence. BW students perform the major orchestral and choral works with vocal soloists, faculty, and local professionals.
The Festival rotates Bach’s four major works, and this year the festival will showcase the St. John Passion. The Festival Music Director and Conductor Dwight Oltman will lead his 39th and final Bach celebration this year.

Spring Service

The BW Chapter of Habitat for Humanity offers  many service events and build days each semester. The organization has participated in service opportunities such as craft making, Build Walls Help Build Hope event, and Alternative Break service event.
Habitat for Humanity will be volunteering April  26 from 7-2pm for Service Day. Registration will be online from April 7-11 for those interested in participating. The link to the registration web page will be available as the date draws closer and additional information will be announced in the BW bulletin.

Annual Spring Exhibits

The Art Department offers BW students the opportunity to immerse themselves and participate in the arts. The Fawick Gallery offers three exhibitions this spring semester. “A Home for Joe” ceramic mug exhibit is the first exhibit of the semester and runs until February 14.
The Senior Exhibition will showcase the work of the BW studio art seniors and will display a body of work that represents the emphasis and focus of various forms of fine arts. The event will run from Feb. 24- March 21 with an opening reception on Friday February 28, from 5pm-8pm.
The Annual Student Exhibition will run April 7-May 2 with an opening reception on April 11 from 5pm-8pm.
